REVIEW
OUCH! Don sitting nude on a rock on the back cover? I don't know what that's all about. You're supposed to listen to this music while contemplating the Haiku poetry that's on the back of the album jacket. I don't know about that either, but this album is definitely a change of pace for Don. The music is pretty mellow, what with the large string ensemble, but the arrangements are interesting and Don's playing is very inspired, probably sparked by this new setting. Don is the main soloist, though Milcho Leviev makes his presence known. I've heard some say the music is "classical" or "new age," but I don't necessarily agree. It sounds a lot like a soundtrack to a 70s movie, and I think it points in the direction of Don's next album, "Music from Other Galaxies and Planets."
