REVIEW
A great companion piece to the better-known Mingus Ah Um
(which was cut for Columbia 7 months earlier), this Mingus album features Don
on half of the tracks. He only solos briefly on "Things Ain't What They Used
To Be." It's a shame there isn't more interaction between Don and the other
horns, because the line-up is fantastic. Ya gotta love Jimmy, Booker, and Dannie,
along with Mingus the Great.
